Jason Aslinger helped out our family several years ago with a difficult case. He did a very good job in the trial, and the case ended up going our way. We can’t thank him enough for the job he did for us. We were very happy when we heard that Jason became judge of the Juvenile Court. Jason has done a great job so far, and he deserves the chance to continue serving as judge. I urge everyone to vote for Judge Jason Aslinger in the primary on March 6.

Judge Jason Aslinger has been our Darke County Probate/Juvenile Judge since April 4, 2011. Jason is a family man with high moral standards and a good work ethic. Since his appointment in April 2011, he has cut his budget and started a drug program to help some of our youth get off drugs. A program which is already showing good results. He is concerned about our youth and citizens and their problems. I, for one, don't want this program to end. Jason has helped lots of people over the years, and has done a good job as our Darke County Probate/Juvenile Judge since his appointment. I'm asking for you to join me in voting for Jason Aslinger for judge on March 6, 2012.

We have known Judge Aslinger for over four (4) years. First, as a practicing attorney in Greenville and more recently as Probate/Juvenile Judge. As an attorney he earned our respect because he offered legal advice that was not sugarcoated, but was winning advice. Further his billing for fees was extremely fair.More recently, his actions as a Probate/Juvenile Judge have cemented our belief he places the best interests of Darke County citizens first and foremost. He saved Darke Cty. taxpayers over $130,000 annually by reducing the cost of his department and still render fair legal decisions. We need more public officials to do the same. One of his responsibilities is to decide what action be taken when recalcitrant young men appear in his court. These juveniles (up to 18) have incurred problems at home, in school or with law enforcement. Judge Aslinger's options are to return them home (often not a good option), send them to Troy, Oh., (similiar to county jail) or send them to Michaels Home for the boys located in Greenville. A young man's future hangs in the balance.Michaels Home is a well managed alternative to jail. It has supervision 24/7 and teaches life skills such as cleaning, cooking, accepting responsibility and above all learning discipline. They also attend alternative schooling. The drawbacks. It only has capacity for 10 and when they reach eighteen (18) they are released into society. I have become familiar with some of these young men and impressed how they are accepting responsibility and desire to lead a more productive life. During a recent lunch with one of these young men I inquired. Who sent you to Michaels? He responded, Judge Aslinger. My next question. What do you think of him? He looked me in the eye and said Judge Aslinger took time to explain all the issues and options. He then said Judge Aslinger was "firm but fair". All the above is why we are voting to retain him in his present capacity and recommend you consider doing the same on March 6.
